Installation guide:
After download the
installation package, unzip to a directory and run ShareFilter.exe from there.
You need to download data to your local disk
and run Update Data from File menu. Once you get the data updated, you may start using the
program to look for your dream stock. If your operating system is older than
Windows 2000, you may need to download and install VB6 runtime from
here.
Use the program:
ShareFilter installed with some default settings. To change these settings to
your own favorite, use settings window found under File menu.
Price and Volume search
By default, the Current Date is
set to the latest trading date on which the data was updated. The price movement
is set to 1% and volume movement is set to 100%. The minimum sessional volume
for a single stock is set to 50,000. If you don’t want to change these settings,
you may simply click the Go button to start the search. The search result will
be displayed in the left hand side panel. If the Save Result option in your
settings is set to true, the search result will be saved in the directory you
specified in the settings.
MA(Moving
Average) Calculation
The
default MA1(short term) is set to 5 days(sessions), MA2(long term) is set to 10
days(sessions). If you accept these defaults, just put in a stock code and click
Calculate MAs. The result will be displayed in the top-right panel.
MA cross
search
The
default MA1(short term) is set to 5 days(sessions), MA2(long term) is set to 10
days(sessions). Click CrossUp to search for the stocks with 5 days moving
average cross up 10 days moving average, or click CrossDown to search for the
those with 5 days moving average cross under 10 days moving average.
In both MA
Calculation and MA Cross Search, you may change the MA1 and/or MA2 to your
satisfaction (e.g. 7/14, 10/30 etc.). You may also change them in the setting
window, so you don’t have to change them each time you do the search.
Price
trend search
Put a
number in the “days” text box, check Up or Down and click Go button. You will
get a list of shares which were going up/down for a certain number of days.
Volume
trend search
Put a
number in the “days” text box, click “Go” button, you will get a list of shares
whose trading volume increased by a number of consecutive days.
